STARTING OFF WITH GOOD DENTAL CARE
General & Family Dentistry
Regular dental visits are essential to make sure oral health problems — from tooth decay to oral cancer — are detected and treated in a timely manner. Which is why routine dental check-ups and dental hygiene play an integral role in your oral health.
Preventive dental care can help each member of your family maintain a beautiful, healthy smile by safeguarding against oral diseases like dental decay, gum disease, or periodontal disease. Our goal is to prevent these diseases from appearing in the first place or to identify oral problems in the early stages when it’s much easier and less expensive to treat.
We recommend routine preventive dental care visits at least twice a year. Each visit includes a comprehensive cleaning and oral examination. The doctor will screen for decay, gum disease, periodontal disease, oral cancer, TMJ, and problems with your bite.
The Georgia Dental Association recommends seeing a patient as early as 1 year old. It starts with a visit to help answer any questions that the parent/parents may have. Our goal is to start developing a comfortable and lifelong dental home for our youngest of patients. Typically, the actual dental cleaning is not performed until approximately age 3.
Routine Checkups/Exams can include some, but not all of these, based on the patient’s age and needs.
